The high school basketball court is shaped rectangular. The basketball court is 84 ft by 50 ft. To devide the length of the basketball court in equal halves, a center line is provided. This is known as the half-court line.
Intersecting the half-court line are two circles whose centers are 25 feet from both sidelines. The outer circle is has a radius of six feet while the inner circle has a radius of three feet.

Backboard and rim
The backboard dimension is 6 feet long and 42 inches height. From the baseline, the backboard is four feet. The rim is 18 inches in diameter. The back of the rim is six inches from the backboard. This make the front of the rim is 24 inches from the backboard. From the ground, the rim is 10 feet above.
Free-throw area
The free-throw line is 12 feet in length and 19 feet from the baseline. Therefore its distance from the backboard is fifteen feet. The free-throw line divides a circular area called key whose radius is six feet. There are two lines that begin at both ends of the free-throw line and ends that the baseline. Along these lines are blocks which are 7 feet from the baseline. It extends eight inches outside the 2 lines and is 12 inches long. Also along the lines are three free-throw tabs which are three feet from each other. These tabs extend eight inches from the two lines and are two inches thick.
Three-point line
What we call three-point line is an arc whose distance varies from the center of the rim. For Men’s NCAA, three-point line distance from the center of the basket is 20.75 feet or equal to 6.32 meters. Key or shaded lane is 12 feet (3.66 m).
For Women’s NCAA and U.S. High School Competitions, following are the dimensions of the court: 84 feet in length and 50 feet wide (25.6m by 15.24 m). The distance from the center of the basket to the three-point line is 19.75 feet, or equal to 6.01 meters. Shaded or key lane has the same dimension in Men’s NCAA.
The free throw line distance is same for NBA, WNBA, Men’s and Women’s NCAA, U.S Senior and Junior High School. Except for NBA, no definite circle diameter is stated on this category.
A U.S. Junior High School court is approximately 74 feet long and 42 feet wide. It has the equal free throw and three-point line distance with Women’s NCAA and U.S. High School. Center circle diameter is equal as NBA.
